Thanks to all the snow here, I've stayed at home today rather than driving to Cambridge for a course, so I can bring you, a little earlier than expected...
Title:The Adventures of Tom and Barard
Category: slash.
Rating: NC-17 for sexual content. Contains violence, some references to non-consensual sex, and lots of hurt/comfort. I make no money from these stories, and give grateful thanks to JRR Tolkien for providing us with such a richly imagined world to play in.
Chapter 10 has been posted, and can be found here
Earlier chapters can be found here

Poor Catos, it's hard being a teenager. :D
Very pijshed. There was no way I could find to comfortably work it into the flashback, but Frodo turns up the next day, quietly smokes a pipe, and then casually asks if Tom would like him to say something to Da. :grins:

I am ridiculously happy that Tom was able to find familiar faces with Hanril and Legolas. I hope that gives him the strength for what will come next.

Thank you. :) Probably due to my mispent youth reading historical novels involving battles. I suspect there are holes present, but as long as you don't spot them either... :D

I'm a well kept secret. :D But I'm glad you not only found, but also enjoyed. :)

I got goosebumps when I learned that Legolas was there! That's really great and he is such a capable and war-experienced individual--I know he will make a big difference in helping Tom. Aragorn must have been quite worried to send him.
I agree that it was great for Tom to meet the Gondorians and to learn of his family. Doubtless he was beginning to believe that his world didn't exist anymore. This is a great reminder of what he has to fight for and that he is not alone. Sorry to hear about Pippin but I hope we get to see him again before the end of the story.
And I love the way you use the flashbacks to fill us in on Tom and Barard's backstory. It makes it all the more real and interesting. Thanks again for a great story and I can hardly wait to see how Legolas and company make their contribution to it!

:) It would be too easy to lose sight of poor Barard without the backstory
although I think it is more telling that Barahir is there. I can imagine Barahir was the chosen delegate, and Legolas went along because, well, who was going to tell him he couldn't go? :D
