This is the last chapter of the story. I’d like to thank all the lovely people who helped me with beta comment and encouragement. My main betas on this story have been Ghyste and Mariole (content) and Aliena and Peachy (spelling and grammar), but I have also had “guest” betas from Laurelindorian, Notabluemaia, Princess of Geekland and Elycia at various times along the way. Thank you all; I am overwhelmed by how much time and effort people are prepared to put into helping in this way. Mistakes that remain are due to my own stubbornness.

As for my readers, I have valued all your feedback. Thank you. I don’t know if you appreciate how encouraging you have been.

Although this is the end of the story, there is room for a little more. I am currently writing an inset chapter, expanding on a scene that is mentioned in chapter 15. If you send me an email, guessing the scene correctly, I will send you a preview of what is to come...

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I am so glad you added this last chapter, it tied everything up so nicely. It was good to see how Barard had improved and how his family was dealing with what happened to him as well as how Tom was still fighting his feelings of over protectiveness.

I was also hoping you would show Faros and Catos getting together and you just made my day! Thank you for that.

And I absolutely loved Tom's earrings!!

Enjoyed the rest of the chappie. :) It's good to see Barard finally back to normal and the reunion among old friends. I was wondering if Catos would really be able to remain patient, and I guess he couldn't! Good thing too, otherwise nothing would have happened (most probably).

So sad to see this is ending. I'll look forward to the epilogue and anything else that you write. :)

Three years is pretty patient. :D It's a pity Catos had to be so badly wounded before Faros could see where his heart was given.

First may I apologise for being absolute pants with my feedbacking on this wonderful fic. You know how much I've enjoyed reading and I can assure you I was hanging on each new chapter annoucement. I was totally absorbed into the richly described world you created, written as usual, with such great detail and sensitivity. You moved me to tears at times and I loved the playful affection and banter between T and B and how we catch glimpses of Sam and Pippin in their personalities.

This last chapter was a delight. I liked the little trip back to the Shire and the sense of restlessness that you described so well, and what a treat at the end. Naughty Tom! I'm so pleased he dared ask, so that we could all have a good look. ;-)
